Lewis Family Tree

My great-uncle, Percy Williams Lewis (b 15 Feb 1903 Cleveland OH; d 28 Jul 1985 King Co WA), spent decades researching our family history. His book, "The ancestors and descendants of Ebenezer and Martha Porter Williams, of the fourth generation in America," is considered one of the primary references about the Williams side of our "Sherwin Williams" family. Ancestry subscribers can read the book at Ebenezer Williams Genealogy.

Uncle Perce also wrote a less well-known compilation, "A Lewis Genealogy - Being the record of 12 Generations in America of the Lewis Direct Lineage from John Lewis I of Bossenden-in-Blean, Kent, England." He released that 105 page book on 29 Nov 1969. Be aware that the scanned version is about 60MB in size, but you can read or download it at http://irelanddavis.com/docs/lewisgenealogy.pdf. I've also posted a 12 page Journal written in 1843 by my second-great-grandfather, the Rev. Charles Ferris Lewis (1818-1874), while he was a student at the Theological Seminary at Kenyon College in OH.

Lewis line - DNA Testing

We're slowly confirming some of the Lewis research by Uncle Perce with DNA tests. We need more cousins to take an AncestryDNA test - and a male Lewis cousin to take a Y-DNA test.
