Film
This page will focus on movies that you may not have seen - but should.
Online Services
Blockbuster has the best online program if you live near a Blockbuster outlet. Instead of returning
movies via mail, exchange them for films at your local store. You get replacement films immediately - and
replacement films are also sent out by mail.
Netflix has a larger library of films than Blockbuster and more distribution centers. If you live near a
distribution center, you will usually receive a replacement movie two business days after returning a movie.
The Arts
Most of us have limited opportunities to see live or even televised productions of the best arts performances.
From time to time, films are released that convey some of the magic of these performances. Here are a few that
we recommend:
Broadway

- Company: Original Cast Album - Probably the best behind-the-scenes look available
that documents the
production of a cast album. Great insight into Stephen Sondheim and Elaine Stritch.
Dean Jones (of "Disney" fame) provides a wonderful performance of
Being Alive.
- My Favorite Broadway - The Leading Ladies - a wonderful medley of Broadway songs.
