The Battery's Down
The Battery’s Down, a new online television series, premiered February 1, 2008 on YouTube
featuring a slew of Broadway guest stars. Filmed in a style similar to Curb Your Enthusiasm or
The Office,
The Battery’s Down chronicles the life of young actor, Jake Wilson, in New York City.
Each twenty-minute, two-part episode premieres at 12:01AM the first of every month and includes
fellow performers portraying themselves.
With a theme song composed by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul
(Edges, Johnny and the Sprites), every episode
is written and directed by Wilson and features a new song by a talented musical theatre writer or team,
including David Kirshenbaum (Vanities, Party Come Here),
Josh Salzman and Ryan Cunningham (I Love You Because), and
Ryan Scott Oliver and Kirsten A. Guenther (Alive at Ten).
Cortney Wolfson (Les Miserables), Ryan Watkinson (Xanadu, Movin’ Out),
Dani Spieler, Nina Sturtz, and Adam Wachter join Pasek, Paul, and Wilson as series regulars.
